A Manheim resident surprised at FallFest
with a big PayDay!
When Heidi Breland of Manheim Township left for the Turkey Hill / I105 FallFest 2009 on October 11, she was looking ahead to enjoying a performance by Little Big Town and other festivities of the day. She wasn't expecting the event to end up being a big payday for her.
But fortunately, she was among those in the FallFest crowd who decided to enter on-site for a chance to participate in the Turkey Hill / Pennsylvania Lottery PayDay drawing event, joining contestants selected from entries submitted in advance at Turkey Hill stores.
In-store entrants filled out a form on the back of a non-winning Pennsylvania Lottery PayDay game card, and attached an empty PayDay candy bar wrapper. Ten contestants selected from those entries were notified before FallFest that they should be present for the drawing.
However, as at past FallFests, part of the drawing event was to pull one of the on-site registrants from the crowd to join the other contestants. This year, Heidi was that lucky contestant.
During the prize drawing, numbers were given to each contestant as they walked on stage. One by one, contestants were eliminated from the three-prize contest as their numbers popped up in a lottery ball machine, until three finalists-one of them Heidi-remained. After two more balls popped up, Heidi was both shocked and elated to find herself as the last one standing, making her the $10,000 Grand-Prize winner!
Her fellow finalists were Dave Skutches of Bethlehem, PA, winning $5,000, and Debra Perkins of Elkton, MD, the $2,500 winner.
Congratulations, Heidi, Dave, and Debra! We hope you'll enjoy the proceeds of your big PayDay!
