Turkey Hill donates school supplies to area agencies.
Employees from Turkey Hill Minit Markets raised $6,188 for Clare House at their annual holiday party and auction on December 21.
"Our employees truly rallied around the cause and organization, and they raised more in this year's auction than any previous year," said Erin Dimitriou Smith, public relations manager for Turkey Hill Minit Markets.
Turkey Hill employees and vendors donated items for the auction, which was held at corporate headquarters in West Hempfield Township. Employees then bid on the items, which included gift cards, paintings, DVD players, iPods, golf clubs, vacation days and more. All money raised went to the donation.
"I was overwhelmed by the sheer amount of this donation and by the fact that this group recognized our need and importance," said Jennifer Powell, executive director of Clare House. "This donation will change lives and have positive impact on the entire community."
Clare House provides transitional housing and services for homeless women and children in Lancaster.
