Turkey Hill Minit Markets recently donated more than 75 backpacks filled with a variety of school supplies to local agencies working with children in need. Erin Dimitriou Smith, public relations manager for Turkey Hill, delivered backpacks to Crispus Attucks Community Center, Clare House Inc. and Domestic Violence Services of Lancaster County. The backpacks will help make the start of a new school year an exciting time for the recipients.
"The Crispus Attucks Youth Intervention Program addresses the needs of elementary age children who are at risk for failure in school, and part of the service we provide is supplying the youth with backpacks and back-to-school supplies every year. This generous donation from Turkey Hill is very much appreciated, and continues a long history of support from this extremely philanthropic and community-minded business," said Cheryl Holland-Jones, Executive Director of Crispus Attucks.
"We are truly thankful for the gift Turkey Hill has given us. For our children to be able to start school with backpacks and all the supplies they need, truly makes that transition so much easier," said Jennifer Powell, executive director of Clare House. "Turkey Hill has been such a great friend to Clare House. We can always count on them to step up and to help take care of those who have a need."
"Turkey Hill is thrilled to help children in our community start school in a positive way," said Erin Dimitriou Smith. "We are pleased to support agencies in our area that are making a real difference in the lives of children and families."
